Bangalore, May 23 (IBNS): Anti-glare technology provider 3M has announced the launch of its anti-glare screens for laptops and desktop monitors in India.

Designed to work as an integrated part of touch systems, it is compatible with most of the touch-screen displays of laptops, All-in-One computers and desktop monitors.

These screens allow the use of a computer even in adverse lighting conditions, thus increasing productivity and providing ergonomic comfort by reducing health related issues like stress, headache and eye pain.

Powered by 3M’s advanced technology, the 3M Anti- Glare Screen provides display protection and viewing enhancement for electronic displays by reducing glare and mirror like reflection, especially in environment where bright light conditions can disrupt readability.

“With mobility on the rise there is an increasing demand for applications that can make user interface with technology more convenient and less cumbersome for individuals who are expected to stay connected for long hours. Simple solutions like an antiglare filter mounted on the laptop display can help reduce the strain on ones’ eye and also improve their productivity. Globally we have been the leaders in this category and are positive that this technology will be of great value for our customers in India,” says R VijayKumar,  Country Business Leader, India Region, Electronics and Energy Business Group.

The screen is colour –neutral and non-conductive, enabling application to the majority of today’s touch panel technologies.

Additionally the film has a durable scratch resistant coating, thus protecting against scratches and damage to display. Using 3M’s repositionable adhesive technology, this screen can be attached and removed multiple times. The highlight of the product is also that it is light weight, thin with a frameless design that allows it to sit directly on the computer screen. It is easy to clean and hides fingerprints, the company said in a statement.

Priced from Rs 1,600 onwards, the 3M anti-glare screens are available in all leading online shopping portals and electronic stores.

Other applications from the 3M Optical Systems portfolio include privacy screen protectors for computers and a range of neutral, anti-glare, fingerprint fading, back-skin and privacy screen protectors for the Apple iPhone and iPad range.
