Aerial Target Manufacturing Unit to be set up at Gopalpur Industrial Park

Gopalpur/ Kolkata, Oct 28 (IBNS): Mumbai based Sure Safety Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (SSS) is going to set up a manufacturing unit of Aerial Target Products for defence purposes at Gopalpur Industrial Park of Tata Steel in Ganjam district of Odisha.

Groundbreaking ceremony for the first assembly line shed was held today inside the Gopalpur Industrial park being developed by TSSEZ Ltd. in the august presence of   Debi Prasad Mishra,  Minister, Industries and School & Mass Education, Govt. of Odisha along with Pradeep Panigrahy, Minister, Higher Education, Science & Technology and State Rural Water Supply, Government of Odisha, Ramesh Chandra Chyyau Patnaik, MLA, Berhampur, Lt General Saighal, Army Air Defence College Commandant, Arun Misra, Vice-President, Project Gopalpur & MD, Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Ltd, Rajiv Kumar, Vice President, Operations, Tata Steel (Kalinganagar Project),  Anant Bhalotia, Managing Director, Sure Safety Solutions Pvt. Ltd. and other dignitaries.

"The Aerial Target Manufacturing facility will be set up by M/s Sure Safety Solutions Pvt. Ltd., in collaboration with M/s Megitt Defence, United Kingdom. Sure Safety Solutions (SSS) is expected to invest Rs 50-60 Crores in the assembly plant which will be built over 5 acres under the 'Make in India' scheme. The project will begin with an assembly line for aerial targets, followed with servicing Meggitt's more than $50 million order procured from Indian Ministry of Defence for aerial targets," read a statement.

Arun Misra said, “This is a bright beginning for us and we look forward to many more such investments and opportunities in this industrial park in coming days. We are in discussions with investors in China and other South-East Asian countries too who have shown interest to partner with us in this growth. We are committed to establish this region as the next industrial hot spot of the state of Odisha and this occasion marks the first step in this regard”.

Ravi Agarwal, President & CEO, Sure Safety Solutions shared, “We are glad to associate ourselves with Tata Steel Industrial Park at Gopalpur and will contribute our bit to industrial development of the area. We hope to start production here by mid of 2016”.
