Aircel introduces free roaming in South with 'Five States, One Rate'
Kolkata, June 10 (IBNS): Aircel on Wednesday announced the launch of its innovative offering for South-'Five States, One Rate'.
This offering requires no separate recharge or pack activation and will enable all existing and new prepaid and postpaid Aircel customers, to roam freely on Aircel network between the five states namely Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Aircel customers in South traveling between these states will incur no incoming call charges.
While the outgoing calls will be charged at a minimal rate of only 1 p/sec for both local and STD calls, all SMS and Pocket Internet packs will remain unchanged and customers can continue to use them as per their already applicable rates and packs. For the ease of the Aircel customers in South, this offering will be activated for them by default w.e.f. 11th June 2015.
Speaking about the unique offering, Anupam Vasudev, Chief Marketing Officer, Aircel, said, “We all like to live in a world without boundaries and restrictions and this insight is the true inspiration for ‘Five States, One Rate’. Aircel has always been at the forefront of delighting its subscribers with innovative, relevant and value for money offerings and this new and unique offering is a testimony of our commitment to enable the Aircel family to ‘Do a Little Extra’. Since its inception, Aircel, has consistently remained a strong telecom player in South India and with ‘Five States, One Rate’, we not only want to strengthen our position as a market leader but also want to cement our long-standing relationship with our customers."
He further added, “The five states - Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Kerala witness a huge amount of business and leisure traveling and given the porous borders between these states, we did not want our customers to restrict themselves in any manner while using our services. As a habit/natural tendency, while on roaming, we usually tend to avoid taking calls or use data until absolutely necessary but with ‘Five States, One Rate’ we intend to change this thinking. We want our subscribers to say ‘call me anytime’ and in turn relieve them of any worry regarding their mobile phone bills. Our offering will enable them to be ‘freely’ in touch with their family, friends and businesses at all times.”
