Airtel launches first women store in Kolkata

Kolkata,May13(IBNS): Bharti Airtel has inaugurated its first all women store, operated and managed by women employees, in its Camac Street outlet in Kolkata.

The store was inaugurated by Ravindra Singh Negi, CEO -West Bengal and Odisha, Bharti Airtel along with fashion designer Agnimitra Paul, play back singer Somlata Acharya and Deputy Commissioner, Special Branch Krishnakali Lahiri.

“Bharti Airtel believes in women empowerment. Recognizing the capabilities of women has always been integral to Airtel’s commitment to the society and thus launch of this store comes as an important step. Controlled and operated entirely by women, this all new Airtel store will leverage the best of retail practices and will be our first outlet in Kolkata to specifically focus on enhancement and service experience offered to women” said Ravindra Singh Negi, CEO-West Bengal and Odisha, Bharti Airtel.

The store is controlled and operated by thirteen female employees of Airtel.

The store offers will offer all services related to mobile phones, internet and tablets.

Speaking at the inauguration, fashion designer Agnimitra Paul said: “I am a part of the Airtel family since I have bought my first cell phone. This type of store is needed in all parts of India.  To all the women employee, this should be the best store in eastern India.”
