New Delhi: Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) announced on Monday that it has secured additional orders worth Rs 973 crore since its previous disclosure on December 9, 2024. With these new orders, BEL’s total order book for FY25 has reached Rs 9,801 crore, according to an exchange filing.

The recently awarded contracts include platform screen doors for metro rail, radars, communication equipment, jammers, seekers, upgraded submarine sonar systems, satcom terminals, test stations, spares, and related services, Business Standard reported.

Despite this inflow, BEL’s cumulative orders for the financial year represent only 40% of its projected Rs 25,000 crore target.

BEL is a prominent player in the defence and electronics sectors, with a diverse product range that includes radar warning receivers, composite communication systems, night vision devices, IFF interrogators, laser range finders, radar fingerprinting systems, electronic support measures (ESM) systems, X-ray tubes, shelters, and numerous assemblies and components.

BEL reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,450.9 crore in Q2FY25, reflecting a robust 35.2% year-on-year (Y-o-Y) increase.

Total expenses rose by 6.7% Y-o-Y to Rs 3,299.4 crore during the same period.

The company’s shares have delivered significant returns to investors, almost doubling in value over the past year with a 95% surge.

Year-to-date (YTD), the stock price has risen by approximately 70%, and it has gained 5% in the past month. BEL’s 52-week price range is Rs 159.45 to Rs 340.35.
