Canara Bank launches 'Corona Kavach' Insurance Policy

Thiruvananthapuram/UNI: Canara Bank has launched a short-term COVID specific health insurance plan 'Corona Kavach', that will cover hospitalisation expenses related to the treatment of COVID-19.

Canara Bank tied up with the New India Assurance Company, the Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company and the HDFC ERGO Health Insurance Company aiming to provide insurance cover for individuals for COVID treatment, a press release said.

The Corona Kavach Policies will have a very competitive premium structure, starting with as low as Rs 300. More details are available at www.canarabank.com.

It can be purchased on an individual basis and family floater basis. The minimum sum insured is Rs 5,000 and the maximum is Rs 5 lakh. Minimum of 24 hours hospitalisation is required to get benefits.

The maximum period of insurance will be of 285 days or 9 and a half month.

The initial waiting period will be of 15 days from the date of issuance.
