Kolkata, April 22, 2015: Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje held a detailed meeting with members of the Indian Chamber of Commerce, here on Wednesday, with a view to reach out to companies and make them aware of the investment opportunities that exist in Rajasthan.
Representatives of leading companies, including businessmen of Rajasthani origin, attended the meeting.

The Chief Minister is in Kolkata as part of a series of roadshows being held across India and abroad to promote investment opportunities in Rajasthan and the Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit, slated to be held in Jaipur on November 19-20, 2015.

The Chamber complimented the Chief Minister’s government on its policy reforms, especially in the area of labour and skill development.

The Indian Chamber of Commerce indicated that a Rajasthan-based chapter of the trade body would be opened soon in the state’s capital, Jaipur.

Rajeeva Swarup, Principal Secretary, Small Industries and Khadi Gramudyog, Government of Rajasthan, who was part of the high level delegation in Kolkata, commented that there is a growing awareness of Rajasthan’s capabilities as an investment designation.

He added, “Business people are more aware of Rajasthan, more aware of the strengths we bring to the table and very willing to do business with us."

There is growing interest in Rajasthan as an investment destination of choice due to a cluster of factors – investment-friendly government, good infrastructure, proximity to the National Capital Region, flexible and supportive industrial policies and incentives, and, availability of ‘point-out’ sources within industry and government circles.

Such high-level delegations are visiting other cities across India to promote Rajasthan as an investment destination and reach out to companies to make them aware of the investment opportunities that exist in the state.

The state government is also seeking to invite potential investors, business community and NRIs to attend the Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit.
