New Delhi, Aug 23 (UNI): Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday conducted raids at the premises of Jet Airways founder Naresh Goel in Delhi and Mumbai for alleged violation of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) Act, a probe agency official said here.

More than a dozen places including the residential premises have been raided in a bid to collect more evidence against Goel in the said violation of FEMA, officials said.

In this connection, he was also interrogated by the officials of the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) in Mumbai on Thursday.

A Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) inspection report had also found large-scale irregularities, including diversion of funds, in the airlines, a probing official said.

Goel stepped down as the Chairman of Jet Airways on March 25.

One of the premier private airlines Jet Airways completely stopped its operation on April 17 due to heavy cash crunch.

Goel and his wife Anita Goel were not allowed to travel abroad on May 25 by the Immigration officials at Mumbai Airport.
