Fraud investigation body summons top bankers Chanda Kochhar and Shikha Sharma in PNB scam case

Mumbai, Mar 6 (IBNS): The Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO), on Tuesday, summoned ICICI bank MD and CEO Chanda Kochhar and Axis Bank chief Shikha Sharma in relation to the PNB scam case, according to media reports.

The have asked to appear  at SFIO's Mumbai office, reports said.

Kochhar and Sharma have bee summoned regarding the Rs 3,280 crore working capital loan to Mehul Choksi’s Gitanjali group, according to News18.

ICICI, part of the 31-bank consortium that lent money to the Gitanjali Group, had sanctioned a loan of Rs 405 crore.

However, NDTV quoting sources said that the senior officials are only being questioned for clarifications and not as accused in the fraud case.
