GDP share of goods and services exports surges to 21.4 pc in 2021-22 from 18.7 pc in 2020-21
New Delhi: The share of exports of goods and services in GDP has increased from 18.7 percent in 2020-21 to 21.4 percent in 2021-22.
India's export of goods and services stood at Rs 50,63,885 crore in 2021-22 as per provisional estimates, contributing 21.4 percent to GDP.
It reveals that the overall share of goods exports in GDP has increased from 10.9% in 2020-21 to 13.3% in 2021-22.
During the period export of engineering goods accounted for 3.53 percent of GDP, Electronic Goods 0.49 percent, Drugs & Pharmaceuticals 0.78 percent and Petroleum Products 2.13 percent.
This information was given by Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on Friday.
The sector-wise percentage share of goods exports in the annual GDP (at current prices) for the last five financial years has been provided by the government.
In 2021-22, India's export of goods and services as per provisional data stood at Rs 5,063,885 crore, a 36.7 percent growth compared to 2020-21, the ministry's data shows.
It accounts for a 19.5 percent growth in GDP which is Rs 23,664,637 crore as per provisional estimates.
