Google releases Android 10

San Francisco, Sep 4 (Xinhua/UNI) Google released the final version of Android 10 for users of Pixel smart phones, which comes with hundreds of new features, Dave Burk, vice president of engineering (Android) at Google said.

The final release of Google's latest version of its mobile operating system was made possible after several months of betas, which features almost 50 changes in connection with privacy and security.

"Android 10 gives you greater protection, transparency, and control over your data," which builds on top of Google's ongoing commitment to provide industry-leading security and privacy protections on Android, Burke said.

Among the top features will be the much-anticipated dark mode theme, which is good for eyes when users are viewing at night and improves battery life of the OLED phones.
Smart Reply feature of the new operating system will allow users to easily reply a message sent in with an address or a YouTube video by navigating in Google Maps or YouTube without any copying or pasting, said the Google vice president.

Another major update, which is called "Project Mainline," will allow Google to release critical security and privacy patches directly from the Play Store, without having to wait for a full operating system update.

Although Android 10 will be applied first to Google's own Pixel mobile devices, Google is also "working with its partners to launch and upgrade devices to Android 10 this year," Burke said.
