Idea becomes gains trust of 2 Cr customers in MP, Chhattisgarh

Indore, June 29 (IBNS): Mobile operator in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, Idea Cellular, has recorded over 2 Crore customers on its network in the region.

Idea made this landmark achievement on the back of a highly successful FY15 when it added nearly 20 lakhs users in the circle and recorded highest YoY growth of nearly 4 percentage points in Revenue Market Share (RMS) which stood at 39.6% in Q4FY15.

Idea has become the first mobile operator in MP and Chhattisgarh to gain the trust of over 2 Crore customers, and it is the second circle for the company to achieve the milestone after the neighbouring Maharashtra and Goa circle.

To mark the occasion, Idea is launching a campaign thanking its over 2 Crore customers from the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh for joining the ‘Most Trusted Network’.

According to P. Lakshminarayana, COO – Corporate, Idea Cellular, “Idea is the only mobile operator in India which has witnessed strong growth in market share in the circles where it leads, including MP & Chhattisgarh. Our commitment to grow both voice and data businesses, by investing in network infrastructure and spectrum acquisition, customer experience management, and brand building, has helped us further consolidate our position in a hyper-competitive market."

Idea has consistently been investing in network expansion to set up the widest 2G and 3G network in the circle, comprising of 9804 sites covering more than 52,000 towns and villages. To enhance its service and distribution channel for superior customer experience, Idea has expanded its network of service centres to 834 in the circle. An array of value added services and a bouquet of customized products have made it a preferred service provider in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh region.

According to Rajesh Naik, Chief Operating Officer - Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh, Idea Cellular said, “Idea’s strengthening leadership position in MP & Chhattisgarh and our ever-growing customer base is a result of our strong customer commitment. I thank our over 2 Crore customers for their faith in the network and assure them of superior mobile service experience, going forward. We are committed to further drive mobile penetration in the state and take our users on to the next wave of mobile data services.”

The biggest mobile operator, Idea, has invested in spectrum acquisition in 900 MHz, 1800 MHz and 2100 MHz bands for MP & Chhattisgarh circle in the last 5 years, enabling business continuity for its over 2 Crore subscribers and becoming the only operator to have the capability to offer all three Mobility technologies – 2G, 3G, and 4G services. Idea is currently offering 2G and 3G services and plans to offer LTE based 4G services in the circle in the near future.
