Indian benchmark indices end lower on Tuesday despite intraday recovery
Mumbai, Sep 26 (IBNS): The Indian market opened on a weak note on Tuesday and managed to recoup the losses intraday. However, it could not hold on to the recovery and ended the session on negative note.
The BSE Sensex was down 26.87 points at 31599.76, while the NSE Nifty was down 1 point at 9871.5.
Top gainers included ONGC, Vedanta, TataSteel, Hindalco, Axis Bank, Lupin and Hero Motocorp while HUL, Bharti Infratel, BPCL, Tata powwer, Asian Paints, Dr Reddys Labs, TCS and M&M declined.
