Indian Market: Sensex drops by 50 pts

Mumbai/UNI: BSE Sensex on Monday slipped by 50 pts at 40,635.04 as selling was seen in Materials, Metals and Oil and Gas stocks.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too eased by 29.35 pts to 11,901.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 40,724.40 and 40,495.45 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 11,942 and 11,877 respectively.

The Mid Cap fell by 0.09 pc while Small Cap was up by 0.46 pc.

In 30 scrips, 16advanced while 14 declined.

The losers were Reliance Industries by 2.22 pc to Rs 2065, Tata Steel by 1.82 pc to Rs 415.65, Bajaj finance by 0.96 pc to Rs 3285.45 and NTPC by 0.87 pc to Rs 85.50.

The gainers were Indusind Bank by 3.30 pc to Rs 627.50, Nestle India by 1.97 pc to Rs 16175, Powergrid by 1.20 pc to Rs 172.20 and Bharti Airtel by 1.15 pc to Rs 439.
