Karnataka has released over Rs 4163 crore towards farm loan waiver

Bengaluru, Feb 28 (UNI) The Karnataka Government has so far released over Rs 4163 Crore towards farm loan waiver and it will benefit more than 19 lakh farmers, Nodal Officer on Loan Waiver scheme Manish Moudgil on Thursday said.

Speaking to newsmen here on Thursday, he said that while about 8.5 lakh farmers who had availed loan from the Commercial banks and another 10.40 lakh farmers, obtained farm loan from Co-operative institutions have benefitted till date.

Stating that about 90 per cent of the targeted farmers have successfully submitted the required documents to the concerned authorities, he said that another 1.70 lakh farmers are yet to submit their documents.

Replying to a question, he said that “weekly disbursement towards implementation of the loan waiver scheme was monitored”.
