Key Indian benchmarks close lower on Monday
Mumbai, Aug 7 (IBNS): Even though NSE Nifty manged to cling to its above 10,000 mark on Monday, overall the market was in a decline, with BSE Sensex down 51.74 points at 32273.67 and NSE Nifty down 9.00 points at 10057.40.
According to media reports, profit booking by investors and weak corporate earnings pulled down the market on Monday.
Top gainers included Tata Steel, SBI, Adani Ports, BPCL, ICICI Bank and BHEL while Infosys, Bharti Infratel, NTPC, Dr Reddy's Labs, M&M and Tata Motors declined.
