Lenovo announces 'Start-up With Lenovo' initiative in West Bengal
Kolkata, Sept 16 (IBNS): Computer manufacturer Lenovo on Wednesday announced the launch of its new initiative-'Start-up With Lenovo' in West Bengal to increase computer penetration in the state which is below the national level.
The Director (Marketing) of Lenovo India Bhaskar Choudhuri and the General Manager (East) of the company Niraj Pancholi were present at the announcement event here in Kolkata.
Launching the initiative here, Bhaskar Choudhuri said, "After completing two acquisitions last year, Lenovo has recorded 46 billion dollar sell globally in 2014. We started this programme in Andhra Pradesh and Gujrat in 2014 and this year we are extending it to the other states of India including West Bengal. Bengal is a very significant state for us."
Taking about the 'Start-up With Lenovo' initiative, Niraj Pancholi said, "To increase PC penetration in India as well as in West Bengal, we are launching the initiative. We are promoting 13 products including Notebooks and Desktops."
"This is a very long term initiative, so its promotion needs six to ninth months in the state," he further added.
However through this initiative, Lenovo is educating the youth about the importance and benefits of PCs and offering the buyers finance support to purchase computers or laptops from a wide range starting at Rs 24990.
Ting up with Bajaj Finserv, Lenovo is offering the customers a 9 EMI scheme, divided into a down payment of 2 months' EMI, a processing fee of Rs. 749 and payback balance in 7 EMIs without any interest on EMIs and the interest free EMIs are starting from Rs 3000.
Without taking any additional charge, Lenovo is also providing Tata Photon Plus dongles with each PCs under this scheme.
