MIAL bags Sustainable Carbon Management Practice Award

Mumbai, Nov 30 (IBNS): Mumbai International Airport Private Limited (MIAL), the company that administers Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA), received the prestigious 'Sustainability Carbon Management Practice' Award at the India Sustainability Leadership Summit held recently at Taj Lands End.

The esteemed award, presented by Sumit Sabharwal, CEO, Excelity Global, and Prof. Chetan Wakalkar, Group Director, Indira Group of Institutes, was conferred on Dr. Narendra Hosabettu, Executive Vice President, Environment, MIAL, for the company’s contribution in the areas of sustainability and environmental management. 

Acknowledged for exemplary work in the areas of Green House Gas accounting & Management at CSIA, MIAL has continuously demonstrated its leadership in GHG emission management.

Along with being the first airport in India to get ISO 14064-1:2006, MIAL, in 2011, became the first Indian airport accredited to Level 1 (Mapping) stage of Airport Carbon Accreditation program by ACI.

In the year 2013 MIAL successfully upgraded its accreditation to Level 2 (Reduction) and in the year 2015 MIAL successfully upgraded to ACA Level 3 (Optimisation).
