Murshidabad RRB, Coochbehar , New Market branches of United Bank bags Certificates of Excellence

Kolkata, Apr 23 (IBNS) The Department of Financial Services (DFS) under Union Ministry of Finance has issued Certificate of Excellence to Matikunda Branch (Murshidabad) of Bangiya Gramin Vikash Bank, the regional rural bank (RRB) under United Bank of India (UBI) and the Coochbehar and New Market Branch, UBI for mobilizing Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) successfully in West Bengal.
According to the estimate provided by the bank, till March 31, 2015, the number of PMJDY accounts opened by Bank Mitras all over India is (Eighteen lakh ten thousand (18,10,000) and in West Bengal it is around Eleven lakh two thousand nine hundred and thirty (11,02,930). 
 
The Matikunda (Murshidabad) branch of Bangiya Gramin Vikas Bank has topped the list in opening 20250 accounts between August and October 2014, out of which 10770 are women accounts. 
 
The Coochbehar branch of UBI ranked first in the field of total deposit mobilized till November 2014, followed by New Market branch of UBI.
 
The amount of deposit mobilized by the bank under PMJDY all over India till March 31, this year is Rs 28.07 crores. The average deposit per PMJDY amount opened by the Bank Mitras has also increased significantly from Rs 12 in September 2014 to Rs 155 in March 2015. 
 
In West Bengal, the total amount of deposit mobilized by Bank Mitras under PMJDY is Rs 2318.42 lakhs.
 
 So far as RuPay Cards are concerned, the total number issued throughout India is Thirty lakh forty two thousand (30,42000) and in West Bengal, it is six lakh twenty eight  thousand five hundred and seventy (6,28,570).
