New Delhi, Sept 1 (IBNS): Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. on Thursday reported domestic sales of 5,918 vehicles in August 2016 versus 2,809 units a year ago in August 2015.

The Japanese carmaker reported 111 percent year-on-year growth in sales for August 2016.

Commenting on the sales results, Guillaume Sicard, President, Nissan India Operations, said, “This is the third straight month that Nissan Motor has sold over 5,000 vehicles in one month."

"Our robust performance continued in August thanks to the strong sales of the Datsun redi-GO and its positive reception across India. We were also delighted to be ranked second in the JD Power Asia Pacific 2016 India Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI), which shows we are providing a better experience to customers,” Sicard said.

In August, Nissan also increased its ranking to second place in the annual J.D. Power 2016 India Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) Study, with a score of 831 out of the 1000 point scale. In 2015, the company was ranked third.

The JD Power SSI study examines six factors that contribute to customers’ satisfaction with their new-vehicle purchase experience in the mass market segment. Sales satisfaction performance is reported as an index score based on a 1,000-point scale, with a higher score indicating greater satisfaction with the new-vehicle sales and delivery processes.
