Mumbai, Feb 28 (UNI/IBNS) : The Rupee on Thursday moved up by eight paise at 71.14 against the US Dollar in early trade on mild selling of the American currency by bankers and exporters, dealers at forex market said.

Unabated foreign fund inflows too supported the recovery in the local unit, the dealers added.

Weak dollar against other currencies overseas and positive equity market kept the local unit up in early trade.

A major fluctuation was seen in the local unit as it recorded intra-day high and low at 71.27 and 71.11 respectively, they added.

On Wednesday, Rupee fell 14 paise to close at 71.22 against the US dollar amid escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan.
