Sanghi Cement signs up as associate sponsor of IPL team Gujarat Lions
Mumbai, Apr 12 (IBNS): Gujarat-based leading cement manufacturer Sanghi Industries Ltd. has signed up as an Associate Sponsor of Indian Premier League (IPL) team 'Gujarat Lions' for the upcoming IPL T20 tournament.
The Gujarat Lions team will represent Rajkot city under the captaincy of renowned batsman Suresh Raina.
The team played its first match against Kings XI Punjab and started its run at the IPL with a convincing first match win on Monday.
Commenting on the partnership with Gujarat Lions, Alok Sanghi, Director, Sanghi Industries Ltd. said, “This association is a unique opportunity for rural Gujarati audience to participate in global properties like the IPL, thereby forming an emotional connect with our customers The Lion evokes a feeling of invincibility and Gujarati pride, the same qualities that represent our brand as well.”
Keshav Bansal, owner of Gujarat Lions team and Director at Intex Technologies said, “We were looking for association from leading Gujarat-based corporates and are happy to welcome Sanghi Industries on-board. We are confident that this association will give both the brands the desired connect and extensive reach with youth and other audience in Gujarat.”
Sanghi said that the company has planned massive promotional activities surrounding this association.
“We are looking to create a buzz around the IPL for rural audience through massive publicity in local print and electronic media. This will be supported by wide outdoor and social media campaign. We are also looking at team connect through player interactions, match participation and distribution of team merchandise to our key business associates. Complimented with our existing marketing initiatives, this association will take the “Sanghi Cement” brand to new heights,” he added.
Gujarat Lions will play a total of 14 matches. Of these, seven matches will be played at two of their home venues, Rajkot and Kanpur. The Gujarat Lions squad includes cricketers like Ravindra Jadeja, who is from Rajkot, and key players like Brendon McCullum, James Faulkner, Aaron Finch, Dwayne Smith, Dwayne Bravo and others.
