Sensex down 395.89 pts

Mumbai, Aug 1 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Thursday declined 395 points to 37,085.23 following concerns over weak core industrial growth data and foreign fund outflows.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too fell by 94.35 points to 10,990.45.

The sectoral indices including Materials, Energy, FMCG, Finance, Health Care and Telecom pushed the market down in early trade.

The scrips like VEDL, Yes Bank, Tata Motors DVR and Tata Motors tumbled down. However, shares of Powergrid, IndusInd Bank, Hindustan Unilever and ONGC rose, capping from further decline.

The losers were VEDL by 4.67 pc to Rs 146.95, Yes Bank by 3.56 pc to Rs 88.05, Tata Motors DVR by 3.45 pc to Rs 62.95 and Tata Motors by 3.06 pc to Rs 131.45.

The gainers were Powergrid by 1.33 pc to Rs 213.80, IndusInd Bank by 0.45 pc to 1419.35 and Hindustan Unilever by 0.26 pc to Rs 1730.50 and ONGC by 0.04 pc to Rs 138.95.
