Sensex jumps over 300 pts

The BSE Sensex remained firm for the fourth consecutive session on Friday as it gained 319.34 pts at 72,369.72 in opening session as almost all sbuying was seen across the board.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 81.35 pts at 21,992.10.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 72,419.02 and 72,234.76 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 22,024.55 and 21,976.60 pts respectively.

The Mid Cap increasec 0.64 pc and Small Cap by 0.86 pc.

In 30 scrips, 22 advanced while 8 declined.

The gainers were Tata Motors by 2.47 pc to Rs 942.95, M& M by 2.19 pc to Rs 1805.75, Infosys by 1.56 pc to Rs 1703.30 and Maruti Suzuki by 1.46 pc to Rs 11,250.

The losers were Powergrid by 1.78 pc to Rs 276.50, ITC by 0.75 pc to Rs 400.95, HCL Technology by 0.36 pc to Rs 1655.85 and Axis Bank by 0.34 pc to Rs 1069.
