Shell India re-opens fuel station in Rakhial area of Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, July 20 (IBNS): Shell India on Monday announced the re-opening of its fuel station in the Rakhial area of Ahmedabad city.

The latest development takes Shell’s total operational fuel stations in India to 77 of which 20 are in Gujarat.

With the opening of Rakhiyal, Shell now has 10 fuel stations in Ahmedabad. Shell is currently present across the six key states of Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Assam and prides itself in offering international quality fuels, exact quantity and friendly customer service at each of its outlets.

Commenting on the launch, Ravi Sundararajan, General Manager, Shell Retail India said, “The regulatory environment is getting increasingly conducive for fuel retail business in India, especially after the diesel de-regulation that took place last year. We are delighted to reconvene our services at Rakhial and strengthen our footprint in Gujarat in line with our growth strategy for India.”

“We are confident that locals from the area along with transient public and long distance travellers will take full advantage of our retail offerings,” he added.

The Shell outlet is strategically located at Rakhial Road – one of the major roads originating from the walled city and leading up to National Highway-8. This path further connects with Odhav and Kathwada Industrial Estates managed by Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC). The vicinity also includes some residential areas like Bapunagar, Gujarat Housing Board Colony and Sone ki Chali.

Shell V-Power, the premium performance petrol recently launched in the Indian market will also be available at the Rakhial outlet along with the main-grade petrol and diesel variants at market price. In addition, the outlet will also offer free engine oil service for bikers.

In line with Shell’s tradition of providing employment opportunities to benefit local communities, most of the employees at the Rakhial fuel station have also been hired locally. The company also promotes diversity at the work place by creating favourable conditions for differently-abled persons and women, to work at the outlets.
