State Bank ATMs to be serviced on Bengali New Year's Day
Kolkata, Apr 13 (IBNS): The State Bank of India has decided to service its ATMs on the Bengali New Year's Day, April 15, 2015, which is a holiday in West Bengal, to cater to the customers' urgent need of cash.
As all the banks will be closed for two days in succession from Tuesday, April 14 for Ambedkar’s Birthday and Bengali New Years day, the ATMs may face a cash crunch.
Prashant Kumar, the Chief General Manager, State Bank of India, Bengal Circle, said that the bank has approached RBI for its approval to open the currency chest on April 15, 2015 to service its ATMs all over Kolkata.
"This will certainly be of a major help for the customers of not only the State Bank, but all the other public sector banks as well because SBI has the maximum numbers of ATMs numbering about 3100 in the Bengal circle," an official statement said.
