Tata Sons announces appointment of new Group Chief Communications Officer

Mumbai/ Kolkata, Sept 12 (IBNS): Tata Sons on Tuesday announced the appointment of Pradipta Bagchi as Group Chief Communications Officer.

Bagchi will report to  N. Chandrasekaran, Executive Chairman of Tata Sons in his new role.


A professional with over 25 years of experience in business, media and communications,  Bagchi has been the global head of corporate communications for TCS since 2005.

He was also responsible for designing key thought leadership initiatives as well as designing TCS’ engagement on global platforms.

N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons, said: “Pradipta brings extensive experience as a Communication professional. As the Group Chief Communications Officer, he will play a key role in driving seamless communication experience across the Tata group as well as create engagement with stakeholders. Having worked with Pradipta for a decade, I know that his energy and experience will be very valuable in this area.” 

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to continue to work under Chandra. It will be my endeavour to help build on the core strengths of the Tata Group,” said  Pradipta Bagchi.

Bagchi was an editor and reporter with prominent Indian media houses like The Times of India, The Economic Times and Business Standard prior to joining TCS.

He is a graduate of the University of Sussex.

He will up take up the new role from Sept 12.
