UBM India & FSAI host 'India Fire & Safety Security Yatra 2014' in Kolkata
Kolkata, Sept 15 (IBNS): UBM India has hosted the India Fire and Safety Security Yatra 2014 (IFSY) in Kolkata recently.
The move was an initiative by Fire & Security Association of India (FSAI), a non-profit organization representing the fire protection, life safety, security, building automation, loss prevention and risk management domains.
IFSY is aimed at promoting and advancing the use of fire safety and security systems that will foster a spirit of safe living among all citizens of India and inculcate a proactive mind-set towards safety and security.
Ashim Mukherjee, President, FSAI Kolkata Chapter said, “Our vision is to establish Life Safety and Security as an important human obligation in the economic development of the country and use this as an index for future investments and growth of the nation to become a world leader. FSAI aims to build awareness of fire safety and security and improve the quality and standard of the industry throughout the country, through a road show, conducted in its 11 chapter cities. Here, we aim to educate the consumer and user as also drive the standard of offerings in the business towards better quality and practices and lastly develop this business into an organised sector."
Speaking about the initiative, Joji George, MD, UBM India said; “The issue of Security and Safety needs discussion and addressal amongst Industries, Corporates and residential societies, alike. Our focus for IFSEC India which is to bring together every business need, technology, understanding of regulations and strategies that need to be covered to strengthen all entities in the commercial, civil and fire safety value chain, extends to this Yatra too, as part of our initiative with FSAI.’’
