Union budget: Find out what gets costlier and cheaper
New Delhi/IBNS: Imported items and X-ray machines will get expensive as per the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday.
On the other hand, chargers and cameras for phones, wearable techs like smartwatches, hearing aids, gemstones and diamond will get cheaper following the implementation of the budget.
Meanwhile, farming tools and smart meters, steel scraps and chemicals for petroleum refining will also see a reduction in price.
"Electronic manufacturing has been growing rapidly and customs duty rates are being calibrated to provide a graded rate structure to facilitate local manufacturing of wearable devices, hearable devices, and electronic smart meters," Sitharaman said in her speech.
What will get expensive:
- Imported items
- Imitation Jewellery
- Speakers, headphones and earphones
- X-ray machines
- Umbrellas
- Unblended fuel
What will get cheaper:
- Chargers and cameras for phones
- Wearable tech like smartwatches
- Hearing aids
- Gemstones and diamonds
- Farming tools and smart meters
- Cocoa beans and asafoetida
- Frozen mussels and squids
- Steel scraps
- Chemicals for petroleum refining
