Vijay Goel to inaugurate Conference on Youth Development in Delhi tomorrow

New Delhi, Dec 18 (IBNS): Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has convened a Brain Storming Session in New Delhi on Monday to generate ideas for Youth Development and empowerment.

Goel will inaugurate the daylong Conference being organized on the subject for the first time with major stakeholders.

The objective is to discuss and generate ideas for youth development and empowerment so that the current schemes, programmes and interventions can be improved upon.

"The ideas could be broadly in categories: a) Ideas and Suggestions for improving the effectiveness of the current Schemes, Programmes and Institutions of the Department of Youth Affairs under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. b) Ideas and Suggestions for achieving better synergy, convergence in the activities on youth organisations. c) New, Innovative Ideas and suggestions for development and empowerment of youth which could be implemented by Department of Youth Affairs or other Ministries, Departments and Stakeholders," a government statement said.

More than one hundred participants from civil society organisations, NGOs, Experts, Young leaders, senior officials from the Ministry, representatives from autonomous organisations such as NYKS, NSS, RGNIYD, representatives of NCC, Bharat Scouts and Guides, Hindustan Scouts and Guides, Indian Red Cross Society and Eco Clubs, representatives of UN bodies in India UNDP, UNV and UNFPA, working for the youth are scheduled to take part in the Conference.
