Volvo announces launch date of XC40 Recharge

Kolkata/IBNS: Volvo on Monday announced that it will launch XC40 Recharge on July 26, deliveries can be expected by the later part of Oct. this year.

XC40 Recharge will be the first luxury EV to be assembled in India, the company release said.

It will get assembled at Volvo's Hosakote plant close to Bangalore.

It will also be the first-ever car to be launched using the sunrise technology 'Metaverse' which the brand is calling 'VolvoVerse'

MD at Volvo Car India Jyoti Malhotra said, "XC40 Recharge with its over 400km per charge range will be widely accepted by customers who are looking for an EV with all the safety and luxury features that Volvo Cars are synonymous with."

Interestingly, the Swedish carmaker's X40 recharge can traverse 418 km with a single recharge.

The XC40 Recharge, a pure electric  SUV, utilizes a 78 kWh battery to power two electric motors.

The overall power output of these are 402 of bhp and 660Nm of torque.

This aids in sprinting from 0-100 kmph in only 4.9 seconds. The top speed for this model is set at 180kmph.

The pricing is yet to be disclosed and is expected to offer a competitive edge.
