Pune, July 30 (IBNS): At least ten died while more than 150 others were feared trapped under debris as landslides hit Maharashtra's Ambegaon village, about 120 km from here, on Wednesday, said media reports.

Two teams of the National Disaster Response reached the spot where more deaths are feared.

Officials said the landslide occurred at around 10:45 AM. More than 40 houses were hit, said reports.

Heavy rains have lashed the area.

Local NCP MLA Dilip Walse told  news channel CNN IBN that the connectivity in the area is poor.

Walse said, "The NDRF has not yet reached the spot. The collector, police, medical teams have reached the spot."

He added, "This is a very remote area and connectivity is poor. This is a heavy rain area. The Revenue commissioner is monitoring the rescue operation from Pune."
