6.3 earthquake hits Indonesia's Lombok Island, no casualty

Lambok, Aug 19 (IBNS): An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter Scale hit Indonesia's Lombok island on Sunday,  US Geological Survey (USGS)  said.

Three previous tremors in the same area had killed over 400 people a few days ago.

As per the USGS website, the earthquake hit at a depth of 10 km and 58 km northeast of Mataram.

A 6.9-magnitude earthquake had hit the area on Aug 5.

It was followed by over 500 aftershocks.

No casualty has been reported in the latest case.
