A sudden cholera outbreak has been reported in Pakistan's  Dir Upper district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Local health officials told The Express Tribune that as many as 211 patients were admitted in a day in District Headquarters Hospital Dir.

There is a lack of facilities at the DHQ hospital which causes trouble for patients and even attendants.

Patients have been forced to purchase essential medicines from the open market because the hospital does not have them in stock, reported The Express Tribune.

The hospital is struggling due to a high influx of patients.
