CMRI, BM Birla Heart Research Centre celebrate International Nurses Day

Kolkata, May 22 (IBNS) CK Birla Group of Hospitals (BM Birla Heart Research Centre and Calcutta Medical Research Institute), one of India's leading healthcare groups, on Thursday celebrated 'International Nurses day', and announced the launch of their specialized service called Homecare Nursing Service.

The hospital organised a cultural program in the presence of Pushpa Ghosh, Deputy Assistant Director of Health Services – Nursing, Department of Health & Family Welfare; Government of West Bengal, Mahasweta Bose, Former Principal of West Bengal College of Nursing and Brigadier Louis Dahal, Principal Matron - Command Hospital  Eastern Command, Kolkata.

Speaking on the occasion SP Singh, Group CEO, CK Birla Healthcare said “Homecare Nursing Service is great news for our patients and this will add to an improved patient management.Today we have gathered here to celebrate the hard work that our nurses provide and contribute towards the well being of the society.”

Singh said: “Our Nursing care is one of the best in the country and their contribution over the years has been acknowledged by all. Our focus has always been on patient centricity, ethical practices and clinical excellence. On this nursing day, I am feeling happy to launch this new service and I wish all our nurses the very best and thank them for their continued support and good work.”

International Nurses’ Day is celebrated around the world on  May 12 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale and is an opportunity for them to celebrate nursing and the contribution they make to improve the lives of individuals.
