Coronavirus: India's daily case count sees major dip with 8,865 new cases

New Delhi: India's daily count witnessed a massive dip as 8,865 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the past 24 hours, as per the Ministry of Health released data on Tuesday.

It is the lowest figure recorded in the past 287 days.

During the same period, 197 people died due to the virus, taking the death toll to 463852.

India's active caseload stands at 1,30,793, which is the lowest in 525 days.

Active cases account for less than 1 percent of total cases, currently standing at 0.38 percent.

Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.27 percent.

It is the highest figure touched since March 2020.

11,971 recoveries were recorded in the last 24 hours.
