Covid-19: India reports 5,676 fresh cases

New Delhi/UNI: India recorded 5,676 fresh cases of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, taking the active caseload to 37,093, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday.

The toll has risen to 5,31000 with 15 virus related deaths being reported in the last 24 hours. Three deaths each were reported in Punjab, Rajasthan, and Delhi, Two in Karnataka, and one each in Gujarat, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu.

As many as 3,761 patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. The total number of people who have recuperated from the disease is 4.42 crore (4,42,00,079).

The recovery rate currently stands at 98.73%.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.88% while the weekly positivity was pegged at 3.81%.

Meanwhile, 92.30 cr total tests conducted so far; 1,96,796 tests conducted in the last 24 hours as per Ministry data.

Delhi on Monday logged 484 fresh Covid-19 cases with a positivity rate of 26.58%.

However, the health bulletin stated that Covid-19 was not the primary cause of death.

With the addition of the fresh cases, Delhi's Covid-19 tally has risen to 20,15,121. The death count stands at 26,543, the bulletin stated.
