Covid-19: India sees biggest single-day spike with over 83,000 new cases, tally crosses 38-lakh mark

New Delhi/IBNS: India, the worst Novel Coronavirus-affected Asian country, on Thursday witnessed the biggest single-day spike in Covid-19 cases with over 83,000 fresh infections in the last 24 hours.

With new 83,833 cases, the Covid tally has now touched 38,53,406.

In the last 24 hours, 11,72,179 samples were tested, the highest in a single day since the outbreak of the virus in India in late January.

The Covid toll has touched 67,376 with new 1,043 deaths.

India, which is now adding the highest daily infections in the world, is all set to resume metro railway services from Sept 7, giving relief to lakhs of office goers in some of the cities in the country including the national capital New Delhi.
