Dharwad/UNI: The total number of Covid-19 positive cases in SDM College and Medical Sciences has risen to 306 after all the students and staff of the college were tested for coronavirus.

The tests were conducted yesterday and today on 2,217 people, Dharwad Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil said.

Twenty five people tested positive, he said, adding that the infection is limited to students, doctors and staff members of SDM campus.

So far, only six infected people are symptomatic and the rest were asymptomatic.

The district administration, health and family welfare department, police and SDM governing council will continue to work hard, Patil further said.

The number of people who tested positive on Saturday stood at 281. All infected persons have been isolated and quarantined for treatment, he added.

As per government orders, the hospital's out-patient services have been suspended until further notice. Emergency services will continue to be provided, he said.
