Moscow/Sputnik/UNI: The death toll from the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak in China has risen by 31 to 2,943, the number of confirmed cases has increased by 125 to 80,151, the state health committee said.

According to the latest data from 31 provinces, 47,204 people have been discharged from hospitals.

Meanwhile, two new cases of confirmed coronavirus infection were reported from India.

One person has been detected with the COVID-19 in New Delhi and the other in Telangana.

“One positive case of COVID-19 has been detected in New Delhi, and one has been detected in Telangana,” the union health ministry said in a release.

“The person from Delhi has a travel history from Italy, while the one from Telangana has a travel history from Dubai. Further details of his travels are being ascertained,” it said.

The Health Ministery added that both patients are stable and closely monitored.

Later, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said that depending on the global evolving scenario, travel restrictions could be imposed as a precautionary measure.

The first three cases of Coronavirus were reported among students from Kerala who returned from China’s Wuhan, which is the epicentre of the outbreak of the virus.

Following the outbreak in Kerala, the state government issued health warning and had declared a 'calamity.'

All three students were later discharged from the hospital after they recovered.

India earlier evacuated hundreds of people from China.
