Delhi logs 19,133 new cases, 335 deaths

New Delhi/UNI: The  National Capital on Thursday reported a spike of 19,133 fresh cases of COVID-19 while 335 people lost their lives.

The new additions took the City's caseload to 12,73,035 and the death toll to 18,398. On the previous day, the Capital added 20,960 fresh cases while 311 more lives were lost.

The positivity rate was recorded at 24.29 per cent, first time below 25 per cent in last 18 days.

As many as 78,780 people were tested in the past day while 20,028 people were cured and discharged taking the total recoveries to 11,64,008.

Currently, there are 50,562 COVID patients under home isolation across the city. The number of active cases is 90,629 which includes patients under home isolation. Containment zones also rose to 49,123.

Meanwhile, the government vaccinated 68,205 people in the last 24 hours out of which 56,857 beneficiaries received the first dose while 11,348 were administered the second dose. Till now, cumulatively, 35,52,037 people have received a vaccine jab in the National Capital.
