Delhi's air quality slumps to 'severe' category on Thursday, to improve between Friday and Sunday

Delhi/IBNS: Delhi’s air quality index (AQI) worsened to “severe” category on Thursday,  Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) said.

The AQI reading was 402 at 13 hours, the data released by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) showed while an AQI reading of 381 was recorded at 7am.

On Wednesday, the average AQI had improved to the “poor” category at 297, the lowest in the last six days, due to the strong winds that blew over the city.

IMD’s environment monitoring research centre said the national capital air quality is likely to improve on Friday and Sunday significantly as wind speeds are likely to touch 15kmph on Friday.
