Environment Minister launches month-long Van Mahotsav to raise awareness about tree plantation

New Delhi, Jl 5 (IBNS): Environment Minister Dr Harshvardhan launched a month-long plantation drive to mark Van Mahotsav, according to media reports on Wednesday.

The minister distributed saplings to the local residents as part of the drive.

Usually, Van Mahotsav is celebrated during the monsoon to encourage tree plantation and environmental awareness.

A Paudh Mela was also organised on Tuesday at the parking spot near Sukhna Lake Club in Chandigarh where V P Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab & Administrator, UT Chandigarh was the chief guest.
