Ahmedabad: Gautam Adani is set to donate over Rs 6,000 crore to establish two Adani Health Cities (AHCs) in Ahmedabad and Mumbai through the group’s not-for-profit healthcare arm.

These integrated campuses will feature 1,000-bed multi-specialty hospitals, medical colleges, and research facilities in partnership with US-based Mayo Clinic, known for its expertise in healthcare, education, and research.

The donation is part of the Rs 60,000 crore pledge made by the Adani family on Gautam Adani’s 60th birthday.

The initiative aims to expand beyond these two cities, with plans for similar AHCs in multiple locations across India.

According to the company’s statement, “The AHC medical ecosystem aims to serve people from all socio-economic backgrounds, train the next generation of doctors and focus on clinical research, artificial intelligence and biomedical informatics.”

The Adani family will fully finance the initiative to “bring affordable, world-class medical care and medical education” to all sections of society.

The Adani Group has engaged Mayo Clinic to provide strategic advice on organisational objectives and clinical practices.

Mayo Clinic will also guide the integration of digital and information technology and enhance healthcare quality across the AHCs.

Gautam Adani highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating, “The development of the AHCs is the first of many major projects from this contribution, which will go a long way towards providing affordable, world-class healthcare to people from every section of the Indian society.”
