Guwahati: Elephant dies as speeding trains hits it

Guwahati: A speedy train hit and killed a wild elephant at Chandrapur area, outskirts of Guwahati on Friday morning.

The incident took place at Panbari near Chandrapur where a speeding train mowed down a wild jumbo.

According to the locals, a herd of elephant came out from nearby Amching reserve forest to the plain areas in search for food.

Following the incident, forest officials, and a veterinary doctors team rushed to the spot.
