Mumbai, July 3 (IBNS): In sync with the State Government's vision to increase green cover across Maharashtra, the Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL), the company that administers GVK Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA), planted tree saplings on Friday on the occasion of Van Mahotsav.
During the week the company shall plant more saplings around the airport premises.

The saplings include Pink Trumpet Tree (Tabebuia Rosea) and Fern tree (Filicium Decipience) variety that are of flowering category.

The company shall make tree plantation as a regular activity for the company in the months to come.

Planting trees across the state and conserving the environment is the first step in addressing the issue of climate change and protecting the ecosystem.

MIAL is a socially responsible organization and sustainability remains a constant endeavor in all of its projects and initiatives.

Started in 1950 by the ministry of Agriculture, Forest Day or Van Mahotsav, is an annual tree-planting festival held across India from July 1 to 7. This year the state government planted about 2 crore saplings across Maharashtra on July 1.
