Heat wave conditions likely to prevail in Telangana in next 24 hrs : MET

Hyderabad, May 22 (UNI) Heat wave conditions is likely to prevail at isolated pockets in all the districts of Telangana during the next 24 hours starting from 0830 hours this morning, Meteorological Department warned on Wednesday.

In a bulletin here, it also warned that Heat wave conditions is likely to prevail at isolated places in Rayalaseema,Telangana during the next five days, during the next four days and in Coastal Andhra Pradesh on May 26 and 27.

It said and thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds 40 to 50 kmph and lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places all the districts in Telangana during the next 24 hours.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at isolated places in Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next five days.

Heat wave conditions prevailed at isolated pockets in the districts of Adilabad, Nizamabad and Nalgonda of Telangana and in the district of Chittoor of Rayalaseema during the last 24 hours, while heavy rain occurred at Medchel in Malkajgiri district of Telangana .

Isolated rain occurred in Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalseema during the last 24 hours.


In Telangana, the highest maximum temperature of 45.4 degree Celsius was recorded at Adilabad.

In Hyderabad the maximum and minimum temperatures stood at 42 and 22 degrees Celsius respectively, the bulletin said.

In Andhra Pradesh, the maximum temperature of 43.6 degree Celsius was recorded at Kurnool, while in Vijayawada the maximum and minimum temperatures stood at 41 and 27 degrees Celsius respectively, the bulletin added.
