Himachal Pradesh: Moderate intensity earthquake hits Chamba and Kangra district

Shimla/UNI: A moderate intensity earthquake struck parts of Chamba and Kangra district on Monday night, authorities said on Tuesday.

They further said that there are no reports loss of life and property so far.

Indian Meteorological Department incharge Mr Manmohan Singh said that the earthquake measured 5.1 on the Richter scale and was recorded at 1932hrs on Monday.

The epicenter of earthquake was located at a latitude of - 33.34 degrees north and longitude of 75.47 degree of east and at a depth of five km in the state of Jammu & Kashmir.

Tremor also felt at several places in Kangra and Chamba district.
