India adds 39, 742 fresh COVID cases in last 24 hours, 535 new deaths

New Delhi/IBNS: India added 39,742 fresh cases of Coronavirus in the last 24 hours while deaths from the virus rose by 535, the Union Health Ministry stated in its daily bulletin on Sunday.

The Asian country's overall caseload now stands at 3.13 crore.

Meanwhile the total fatalities are at 4.20 lakhs, according to the health ministry.

So far, over 43 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country, the health ministry said.

Nearly 46 lakh vaccine doses were administered till 7 pm on Saturday, it said.

For the first time, five cases of 'Kappa' variant of coronavirus have been detected in Gujarat.
