India adds 6,563 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours amid Omicron scare
New Delhi/IBNS: India reported 6,563 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours while the country is witnessing a rise in cases related to the 'Omicron' variant of the contagion.
In 24 hours between Sunday and Monday mornings, 132 deaths apparently linked to the virus were reported from across the vast country of 1.3 billion people.
In the same span of time, 8,077 COVID-19 patients have recovered taking the recovery percentage to 98.39%, the highest since Mar 2020.
The active cases now account for 0.24%, the lowest since Mar 2020.

The cases related to the 'Omicron' variant of COVID-19 have surpassed the 150-mark with five more infections being reported from Karnataka on Sunday.
According to the reports, the highest number of 'Omicron' cases has been reported from Maharashtra (54) followed by Delhi (22).
